The NSW Govt's $310 Million Climate change fund has been established to help businesses, households and Governments save energy and water.It includes $100 Million for residential rebates to help households make their homes more water and energy efficient. As well as rebates for rainwater tanks, the program will also provide rebates for insulation and energy efficient hot water systems. The purpose of the rainwater tank rebate is to save drinking water by encouraging householders to install a tank to harvest water to flush toilets and wash clothes.The rebate is scaled so that the highest rebate is available for tanks which are connected to a toilet and washing machine.
These rebates are:
2000 - 3999 Litre tank $150, If connected to toilet(s) $500, Connected to washing machine(s) $500 = Maximum total $1150
4000 - 6999 Litre tank $400, If connected to toilet(s) $500, Connected to washing machine(s) $500 = Maximum total $1400
7000 Litres & above $500, If connected to toilet(s) $500, Connected to washing machine(s) $500 = Maximum total $1500
